Ukulele player strikes a chord with Landmark Village residents
Ted Stewart's performances highlight value of showcasing resident talents

When Landmark Village needs musical entertainment, activity staff can call on resident Ted Stewart any time to play ukulele and sing.
Ted's musical abilities were discovered by activity manager Brent Hart one day following a karaoke afternoon at the Sarnia seniors living community.
Brent noticed what an excellent singer Ted is and saw how much fun he was having on stage, so he asked Ted if he would perform for residents.
“It can be difficult to encourage residents to get up in front of everyone, but Ted took to it and had a great time,” Brent tells S&R Today.
Ted is active in the local music community, both inside and outside of Landmark Village, Brent adds. In addition to playing his baritone ukulele in the resident choir, Ted is a member of the Merry Music Makers and the Sarnia Bluewater Chordsmen.
Since his debut performance for Landmark Village residents, Ted has had a spot on the monthly activity calendar and has taken to the stage several times to play for residents, Brent notes.
“Ted's passionate about music, and it's wonderful giving him the ability to share it with everyone,” Brent says. “After each performance, I always let Ted know that whenever he'd like to do this again, to let me know.”
Brent says one of the things he's focusing on for 2026 is searching for residents' talents and encouraging them to share those talents with their fellow residents and team members.
“(I want to) discover what individual residents enjoy doing or talents they may have and help them share (those talents) and flourish for others to see,” he says.
