Twin Lakes Village recently hosted its first wine-and-cheese-tasting event, a gathering that brought residents, their families, friends and prospective residents together to enjoy an hour of refreshments and entertainment.

Kerry Andriash, the Sarnia seniors living community's fun co-ordinator, organized the March 11 event, where residents and guests were served a variety of cheeses accompanied by wine. Live entertainment was provided by the Border Lite Trio.

“Guests had a delightful afternoon in the activity room sipping on red and white wines and tasting various types of cheeses and crackers that paired well,” Kerry tells S&R Today.

Prospective residents were also invited to the event so they could enjoy a Twin Lakes Village experience.

Kerry adds that residents and guests enjoyed the event and had lots of fun.

“It was a huge success,” she says.

The wine-and-cheese event was one of the “senior socials” Twin Lakes Village hosts each month. These events are designed to provide a fun event for residents as well as give people who are interested in living at Twin Lakes Village a sample of life at the Village.

The first senior social Twin Lakes Village hosted was a floral bouquet-making tea in August. All of the S&R Group's seniors living communities have been hosting these events since last year.

Potential future Twin Lakes Village residents had a chance to see “how friendly we are and how much fun we have,” Kerry says.
