Zeus the chihuahua puppy may be small, but he delivers a giant dose of joy to residents of the Village on the Thames when he stops by for a visit.

This was exactly the reaction Zeus's owner, Diamond Zelina, was hoping for when she first decided to bring him to the Chatham-Kent seniors living community on her day off.

Diamond, the Village on the Thames' fun co-ordinator, says Zeus scored big points with residents from the start. She took him around the Village to meet everyone and was greeted with lots of smiles.

One memorable moment during Zeus's inaugural visit happened when a resident saw the puppy for the first time, Diamond says.

Tiffanie Beaucage, the Village's resident service manager, was holding Zeus when a resident approached, and the puppy immediately took a liking to the resident.

“He really liked him and was giving him kisses and making (the resident) laugh,” Diamond tells S&R Today, adding that it's moments like this that make her want to bring Zeus to the Village.

“I've never seen him so happy – it was a great moment.”
