Heron Terrace marks 22 years with outdoor celebration

Heron Terrace celebrated 22 years of delivering top-level care to its residents this summer with an outdoor celebration that brought everyone together in what life enrichment manager Sheila Dela Pena-Romero describes as “a vibrant display of community spirit and appreciation.”
The event took place under a large outdoor tent outside the Windsor long-term care community, where, Sheila says, the sunny weather matched the cheerful atmosphere. A local restaurant, Smokies BBQ, catered the event.
A major highlight of the day, Sheila says, was when team members were acknowledged for their years of service to Heron Terrace. Team members who had served for five, 10, 15 and 20-plus years were recognized by administrator Athena Aird and the management team.
“Their hard work and commitment were honoured in front of their colleagues and celebrated by everyone,” Sheila tells S&R Today.
All team members were invited to enjoy the meal, which, Sheila says, “created a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect and celebrate.”
“The lunch was a hit,” she adds.
After the meal, everyone enjoyed an ice-cream bar, complete with a variety of flavours and toppings. Staff could help themselves and build their sundaes.
Sheila says fun and laughter, good food, and sunshine filled the day, and many team members captured the moment by taking photos together to create lasting memories.
“Heron Terrace extends its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this 22nd anniversary so special and unforgettable,” Sheila says.
