Every holiday season Twin Lakes Village hosts a Christmas party for residents, families and team members, but this year's event marked the first time a market was featured.

The Dec. 12 party saw seven vendors sell their wares at the Sarnia seniors living community. Some of the big-name vendors included Avon, Wellwise (Shoppers Drug Mart) and Tupperware.

There was also a bake sale hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Sarnia, and one resident's family member brought her crocheted crafts.

Having the vendors at the Christmas party helped residents, families and team members with their holiday shopping, says Gina McNally, the Village's fun co-ordinator.

“It was an overall success; it helped the residents get some of their Christmas shopping done within the home,” she tells S&R Today.

The event also featured music from entertainer Jan Denk, who sang Christmas favourites for all to enjoy and get everyone into the Christmas spirit, Gina adds.

The Kinsmen Club had three volunteers come to the Village to help serve Christmas treats and Christmas mocktails to all the residents as well.

And, of course, Santa Claus was on hand, courtesy of the Kinsmen Club.

“Families and staff all got the chance to take a picture with the big guy,” Gina says.
