A reporter from the Sarnia Journal visited Twin Lakes Village in July to interview resident Lois Adams and share her story in the paper – and Lois couldn't be happier with the resulting article.
One of the many highlights of Lois's story is her love of knitting. In fact, Lois was busy knitting scarves for local charities when the Journal came to interview her.
Her knitted scarves and hats are sent to hospitals and shelters every year.
“I love knitting and giving back, so I got to do my two passions in one,” Lois, an eight-year resident of the Sarnia seniors living community, tells S&R Today.
Lois also shared with the Journal how much she's enjoying life at the Village.
She reflected on the day she moved into Twin Lakes. A resident introduced themselves to her and made her feel at home and Lois told the Journal she has never forgotten how good that gesture made her feel.
As a result, Lois told the Journal she makes a point of introducing herself to every new resident so they feel as welcomed as she did.
Asked by S&R Today how it felt to share her story with the Sarnia Journal reporter, Lois says the experience “was like talking with a friend” about her life.
“The questions he asked were natural,” she says. “I am very proud of how he shared my story. He told my story as I would, and I am very happy how it turned out.”
