Twin Lakes Village residents and team members kicked off the holiday season Nov. 21 with a Christmas party that included live entertainment and lots of fun for everyone.

And while hosting a party more than a month before Christmas Day might seem too early, Gina McNally, the Sarnia senior living community's fun co-ordinator, says this was to fit in as many fun activities and events as possible during the holiday season.

“It was great to get the Christmas party in early so during the month of December we can continue the Christmas cheer and celebrations,” she tells S&R Today.

“Everyone had a great time celebrating.”

The Christmas party included a visit from Santa Claus as well as a performance from local fan-favourite musical combo Vic Kennedy and the Campfire Band.

Residents and team members spent the afternoon singing along to Christmas tunes the band played as well as enjoying snacks, Gina says.

As a testament to the event's popularity, nearly all Twin Lakes Village residents attended, she adds.

Following the entertainment, residents got to have their photos taken with Santa Claus.

Gina says what made the day successful was the teamwork all staff members put into making the event special for residents.

“All the staff worked together as a team and made the whole Christmas party run smoothly,” she says.
