'The men really enjoyed their day'

Rosewood Village paid tribute to all the dads living at the Sarnia seniors living community with a pre-Father's Day barbecue and car show on June 17.

As luck would have it, the day brought warm weather that was perfect for sitting outside and enjoying hamburgers, potato salad, beer, and other sunny-weather favourites.

There are 10 dads living at Rosewood Village and eight were able to attend the Friday afternoon event, notes Rosewood Village fun co-ordinator Bev James.

After lunch, a group of local classic car enthusiasts brought their hot rods to Rosewood Village for a car show in the parking lot. Residents got to check out the classic cars on display and chat with the owners about their wheels.

There was also afternoon entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Two residents had family members visit that day – one was on hand for the car show and another for the entertainment hour, Bev says.

When Father's Day came two days later, most of the men spent the day outside Rosewood Village with their loved ones.

“The men really enjoyed their day,” Bev tells S&R Today. “On Sunday, a lot of the men were out with their families and had a great day.”
