Lanark Village’s family and friends Christmas party was attended by more than 200 people.

Lanark Village decided to change things up a bit at the Kitchener senior living community’s annual friends and family Christmas party in December, with this year's event centring on a family-style dinner featuring roasted prime rib and chicken.

“The dining room was set up beautifully, with greenery arrangements made by Lisa (from the culinary team) and poinsettias donated by a family member,” Lanark Village fun co-ordinator Kyla Pfister tells S&R Today.

The event was attended by more than 200 Lanark Village residents and their family members and friends who enjoyed the meal and the entertainment provided by pianist Martin Wall, Kyla adds.

Of course, no Christmas party would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus, so Gail, a team member from the housekeeping department, donned Father Christmas’s customary white beard, red suit and hat to spread Christmas cheer to all attending.

Kyla credits strong teamwork from staff members working in all departments for making the event successful and to executive director and food services manager Bradley Lukas for his fine culinary skills.

“We had a great group of staff volunteering to work for this evening and (they) did a great job,” she says. “A wonderful time was had by all.”
