Landmark Village was turned into a car lover’s paradise July 12, when members of the Bluewater Austin-Healey Club brought 10 vintage automobiles to the Sarnia seniors living community for its third annual car show.
The car show was held in the evening. Some of the cars featured included a convertible 1928 Model A Ford Phaeton, a 1951 Jaguar XK-120 and a 1961 Chevrolet Brookwood station wagon. Landmark Village maintenance manager Everett Adams is a member of the club.
The residents toured the parking lot viewing the cars and listening to old tunes from Deejay Ernie.
The event, which was part of the Bluewater Austin-Healey Club’s outreach program, brought together Landmark Village residents and their families with the local community.
“It was a beautiful night,” Landmark Village sales and marketing director Tania Bergen tells S&R Today.
The whole day had been a busy one for residents. In the morning, Landmark Village’s vendor show was held in the Great Hall at noon and showcased eight food suppliers offering new food samplings of hot dishes, side dishes, pastas, chicken wings, vegetable dishes, fruit and desserts.
Each vendor had a card that attendees could use to rate their favourite foods, which the residents especially enjoyed, Tania says.
“The residents loved it; it gave them a chance to go around and try all the new foods, ask questions and let us know what they wanted brought to our community,” Tania says.
